Welcome to Sukher Chador, a Touch of Happiness!

Maa Sukher ChadorThe journey of Sukher Chador began on 9th October 2016 on the day of Mahashtami. Our beloved Sandip Das (Jajabor) paid his offerings to a dismal old mother, selling lemons on the Platform of Dumdum Cantonment, Kolkata. He also fed some hungry street children. This inspired some of us from Face book and thus began the thought process of Sukher Chador, which was a Dream come true for many of us.

Today Sukher Chador has grown into a leviathan tree from a young sapling. It is sad for us that we have lost our Sukher Chador Maa in July 2018.

Sukher Chador today is a govt. registered NGO, whose main objective is to work for the helpless, poor and unwanted, abandoned people of the society, irrespective of caste or religion. Once unknown to each other, today we are a family, bonded with love for distressed. We have members all over in India and also abroad. .

Since the last six years, we have been successfully working with the help and support of innumerable friends, both physically and financially. With their contribution, we could wipe the tears of many unwanted mothers and orphans and this is a matter of pride for all of us in Sukher Chador.

Last six years we have worked in 18 districts of West Bengal, doing 24 different kinds of social work for almost 20000 distressed. We have never limited our work to any particular sphere. With our limited resources we have extended our help, love and care, to the orphanages, old age homes, mentally retarded asylums, street children, thousands of labourers and their struggling families, of shutting down Tea Estates of North Bengal, extreme interiors of Purulia, where the SHABARS live the life nothing better than animals. We have also extended our help as much as possible to the sick for their treatments, to the flood-affected people of Kerala, and also taken the long-run responsibility of tribal children of Shantiniketan in pursuing their education.

We have innumerable dreams but limited resources, but we also know with the help and contribution from our friends all over, we can make our dreams come true and bring smiles to thousands of children and mothers.

We feel proud to say that all these years we could work with purity and honesty and spend the financial contributions of our friends in a transparent manner, and also produce the audit report to the members and the govt. We hope to maintain this goodwill of Sukher Chador in the coming years too.

Sukher Chador is bound by certain rules and regulations in their work process. Before taking up any project we, a team of minimum three, go for spot survey and then the decision is taken by the executive members. We bear our own expenses during work. We give receipts to all the donators against their contribution.

Finally, we wholeheartedly express our thanks to hundreds of friends who have been with us, physically, morally, and financially in making our dreams come true. Without their Co-operation, it would not have been possible for us to take such critical decision and responsibilities in this long journey. They have been our inspiration and source of energy in completing each and every project successfully. Every day more and more friends are coming forward with the desire to work with Sukher Chador and this is a great achievement for us.

Our Values

We appreciate the honesty in work and try to be as much transparent as desirable to our friends who are there to believe and contribute us to accomplish our soul mission. We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work and to the world community as well. Everyone deserves to be happy.

Our Mission

“Give Today. Rebuild Tomorrow.” as said by Mother Teresa. We may not have much to give in kind, but we can give a lot of love and feeling of wantedness to the unwanted destitute, reaching the extreme poverty-stricken humans. Mother Teresa says and we believe “It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.”
